Mi Cereus

Este Cereus, ahora en flor, es una parte de podas que encontré tiradas en un contenedor de basura, a pocas calles de mi casa.

Las flores son enormes, y realmente perfectas!!

This Cereus, now in flower, is a part of pruning I found lying in a dumpster a few blocks from my house.

The flowers are huge, and really perfect!

A pesar de solo haber sido un pedazo o gajo de una planta principal, enraizó y comenzó a crecer.

Se puede observar: como se nota el crecimiento y su gran cambio en el color verde casi ingles de la parte de abajo (vieja) y verde azulado la parte del nuevo crecimiento

En no mas de 6 meses creció prácticamente el doble del tamaño que tenía siendo esqueje plantado y me regaló la belleza de sus flores

Es aquí cuando me pregunto: tendría esa pequeña parte (encontrada, recogida y enraizada) una información u orden genética, que imponga el crecimiento como si nunca hubiera sido cortada de la planta madre y por su puesto la información y certeza de que ya había superado la edad de 5 o 6 años y que debía florecer?

Estas cosas de la naturaleza, verdaderamente me impresionan y conmueven.

En febrero de 2010, me mude de casa y por su puesto mi cereus, se mudo también. Ahora a una maceta: otra vez (6 meses después) se puede observar el crecimiento en el esqueje inicial,(parte antigua, y dos partes nuevas bien diferenciadas) con más el agregado desde la base de dos nuevos brazos.

In February 2010, I moved house and of course my cereus, moved well. Now a pot-again (6 months) shows the growth in the initial cutting (the old city, and two distinct new parts) over the aggregate from the base of two new branches
